International - Toronto drug dealer sent to prison - Drugs Forum: "Ricky Trecartin, 28, was sentenced to 135 months in prison by Chief U.S. District Judge William Skretny. Trecartin had previously pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to illegally import controlled substances into the U.S. from Canada.
The case dates back to 2005, when two smugglers were caught by Customs officers on the Rainbow Bridge with more than 6,800 Ecstasy tablets. The smugglers had attempted to bring the drugs into the U.S. by hiding them in their underwear.
Prosecutors charged that Trecartin supplied the tablets to the smugglers during an open air drug deal in a parking lot in the metropolitan Toronto area on Nov. 1, 2005.
Trecartin was not arrested until May 2007 when Customs agents swooped down on him as he was vacationing in Florida with his fiancé."
