Drugs in Starr County Jail came from guard, deputies say | county, starr, jail - Now - TheMonitor.com: "Undercover agents discovered that a jail employee, Jose Luis Garza, 19, of Rio Grande City, was buying illegal contraband and smuggling it into the Starr County Jail.
Garza was arrested on Wednesday and charged with bribery, a second-degree felony. He is facing between two and 20 years in prison and fines up to $10,000.
Sheriff Rene Fuentes said Garza was bringing a very small amount of contraband into the facility.
“Regardless, though, it’s wrong,” Fuentes said."
