3 Drug Mules Arrested at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport | Pattaya Daily News - Pattaya Newspaper, Powerful news at your fingertips: "Thai Customs officers working at Suvarnabhumi Airport were also able to arrest, Mr.fli Qaisar Afzal Nadeem [34] a Pakistani national traveling from Lahore on board a Thai Airways International flight. The man was subsequently searched after appearing suspicious and found to have ingested over 800g of the illegal class-1 narcotic heroin, with a street value of approximately Bt2.4 million.
All three offenders are thought to have trafficked the illegal narcotics into the kingdom with the intention of selling the drugs within the country. The trio have now been arrested and will remain in police custody awaiting further judicial proceedings to commence.
Thailand’s Narcotics Control Board (NCB) has revealed that an increase in transnational narcotics trafficking syndicates have been investigated passing into and through Thailand over the last few months. Political uncertainty and the continuation of the current global economic depression has forced many Thai’s and foreigners into desperate measures, with Thailand often observed as a viable option to support the illegal business."
