Vicious carjack gang jailed - Manchester Evening News: " Raja, 22, of Davyhulme Road, Stretford; Cameron Wheatcroft, 19, of Cartmel Drive, TimpZamirerley, and a 17-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons, all pleaded guilty to robbery.Raja was sentenced to six years and 11 months in jail, Wheatcroft was sentenced to five years and two months in custody and the 17-year-old boy was locked up for three years and eight months. Two of the offenders drove off in the Subaru and the third got away in the car they arrived in. Detective Constable Jon Weir said: 'This is a terrible incident which left the victim in intensive care for 11 days.
'He received life-saving surgery and is very fortunate to have survived. The effects of this incident have been long term though, and he hasn't been able to work in his trade as a builder since the attack because of the severity of his injuries. 'I hope the sentence will now help the victim move on from this appalling incident, and I also hope that it serves as a message, deterring others from committing these terrible crimes. 'Criminals need to understand that if they choose to carry and use knives while committing crime, they will be caught and punished"
