Heroin dealer sent to prison for 3 to 6 years - News - Republican Herald: "Rodolfo Valdez, who sold heroin twice in October in Pottsville, is headed to state prison after being sentenced Monday in Schuylkill County Court.
'The severity of the offenses are something I can't ignore and I won't ignore,' Judge D. Michael Stine said just before sentencing Valdez, 28, of Port Carbon, to three to six years in a state correctional institution.
Stine also sentenced Valdez, who did not react to the sanctions, to pay costs, $1,200 in fines, $300 to the Substance Abuse Education Fund, $150 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, $280 restitution to Pottsville police and $515 restitution to the state police crime laboratory in Bethlehem, perform 125 hours community service and submit a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities.
A Schuylkill County jury convicted Valdez on March 5 at the end of a two-day trial of three counts of possession of a controlled substance, two each of delivery of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia, defiant trespass and possession of a small amount of marijuana."
